By accessing or using THE-MAP, the Thesis Handling and Efficient Management Archiving Platform developed as part of the project titled Thesis Handling and Efficient Management Archiving Platform (THE-MAP): A Comprehensive System for Streamlined Thesis Lifecycle Management and Digital Preservation at TUP-Taguig Campus, you agree to comply with the following Terms and Conditions.
If these terms are unacceptable to you, please do not use the platform. TUP-Taguig's THE-MAP system enables academic collaboration, feedback, and the management, uploading, and storing of thesis-related papers by students, thesis advisers, and panelists. Any papers, material, or data that users contribute to the platform are referred to as content. This includes, but is not limited to, thesis drafts, comments, and feedback.
Additionally, by using THE-MAP, you acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined in our Privacy Policy. This policy details how we collect, store, and protect your personal information when using the platform.
ACCEPTABLE USES:
The goal of THE-MAP is to make managing theses easier for academic purposes alone. You commit to uploading only original thesis material that you have written when you use the website. The platform can only be used for educational and research use. You commit to working politely with other users, such as your panelists and advisers.
The academic integrity policies of TUP-Taguig, which support the university's high standards of academic honesty and accountability, must also be followed by all submissions.
PROHIBITED BEHAVIOURS:
Users are strictly prohibited from engaging in any of the following behaviors: uploading plagiarized or unauthorized content, engaging in fraudulent, misleading, or deceptive actions, or sharing login credentials with others. You are also prohibited from uploading harmful content, such as malware, viruses, or spam, and from interfering with or disrupting the operation of the platform in any manner.
Additionally, abusive or harassing behavior toward other users, including students, panelists, or thesis advisers, is strictly prohibited in any way possible when using the website.. Failure to comply with these rules may result in the suspension or termination of your account.
ACCOUNT SUSPENSION AND TERMINATION:
Any account that violates these terms and conditions may be suspended or terminated by TUP-Taguig. Additionally, accounts may be suspended or canceled for violating the university's standards for academic integrity or for participating in disruptive, harmful, or prohibited activities.
Upon account suspension or termination, the user may lose access to their thesis documents and other data. Users may request a review of their account status by contacting account.info@the-map.cloud.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS:
Any content that users contribute to THE-MAP, including their thesis work, is still their own. However, when users upload content, they give TUP-Taguig a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to preserve, show, and share the information for the university community's educational and archival purposes. All intellectual property rights pertaining to the platform, its underlying database, software, and design are retained by TUP-Taguig. Reproduction, modification, or dissemination of the platform or its contents outside the university is prohibited without TUP-Taguig's consent.
CHANGES TO THE PRODUCT OR TERMS:
TUP-Taguig has the right to change, update, or remove THE-MAP's features, services, or partnerships at any time. Any major changes will be informed to users by email or platform notifications. The website will also feature the revised Terms & Conditions. Periodically reviewing the Terms & Conditions is advised for users. Acceptance of the amended terms is indicated by your continued usage of THE-MAP following revisions.
USER-GENERATED CONTENT:
Users are solely responsible for the content they upload to the platform, including thesis drafts, final submissions, and feedback provided. TUP-Taguig does not actively monitor user-generated content, but reserves the right to remove any content that violates these Terms and Conditions or university policies.
Users agree to comply with applicable laws and regulations when uploading content to the website.
OWNERSHIP OF USER CONTENT:
The content that users contribute to THE-MAP is still their own. Users give TUP-Taguig permission to retain, maintain, and disseminate their thesis content for instructional and academic purposes within the university community by submitting content to the site.
Users may delete or request the removal of their content at any time by contacting support. However, deleted content may still be retained for archival purposes, in accordance with university data retention policies.
HOW TO DELETE, CANCEL, OR TERMINATE AN ACCOUNT:
If you wish to delete, cancel, or terminate your account, please contact the platform’s support team via account.info@the-map.cloud. Upon termination of your account, all data associated with the account, including thesis documents, will be permanently deleted.
Please note that once deleted, your data cannot be recovered, so be sure to back up any important information before proceeding with account termination.
